It’s that time of year again when the wonderfully weird wacky and fun residents of Queens Park show the rest of London how to put on a ‘Fun Day’.
Not for them a ‘Victoria Sponge Cake Stand’, or ‘Best Marrow in show’ competition (although they probably have those as well) but instead you’ll find dogs dressed as Popes in the pets fancy dress show; ‘The Wooden Spoon competition’ and the ‘Basil Pesto Competition’!
And so rightfully Kilburn Cosmos rightfully take central stage, showing our skills to the local residents and the many, many visitors who come to enjoy this quite different festival, and sometimes even entertaining the audiences with a tug of war or two.
Who could resist joining opposing teams captained by such stalwarts as Chairman Birrel and the mighty P. Quinn?
Historically this is a great recruitment event for us so as many bodies down to help out as possible would be great, and it really is fun, and has terrific food and drink (if a bit pricey) and when else will you get the opportunity to get your photo taken with the Pope (even if he is a canine version).
